Green living is now on most everyone’s agenda. As surprising as it may sound, even kids are leading the way in some households.But there are still some people who think that green living is beyond them as it’s perceived to be too expensive. We’re not talking solar panels and wind turbines here folks! Everyone can practice green living each day without breaking the bank with just some simple tips. Here they are.
Swimming is of course another good form of exercise and especially suited to more senior people as it has less impact on the joints in the body. They use an immense amount of energy and I’m sure you feel it in your pocket each month when you get the electric bill. If you have just 2 people living in a household and you wash every other week, you still have to do multiple loads. I do like 4-5 loads on average, so using the dryer does add up.
And how could I forget to mention the health benefits of walking everywhere instead of sitting while moving, aka driving. Keep in mind that not only are you walking to your destination, but you are also walking home from this destination. Adding more exercise, even something as simple as walking, to your daily routine can definitely have its fitness benefits. Even beyond that though, walking can positively affect your overall well-being. Research has shown that walking for 30 minutes a day, three to five days per week may actually make you happier!
Think of the most fun thing you can do to move your body. Rather than calling it exercise, think of it as play time. Do you like to dance, swim, bike-ride, garden, lift weights, play with your cat or dog-then do that. Let’s say you love to dance buy you feel too fat to go to a dance class or too uncomfortable to go to a dance club by yourself. Crank up music at home and dance like a manic in your basement. Eventually, you feel a little better about your body and may decide to try a new class or club on your own.
When shopping for treadmills, do not forget to look at the possibility of buying second hand as this could save you a lot of money.
